Required Course Materials: None - students will create a free account with Intuit's QuickBooks Online (Free for 1 year).
Course Description:
In this course, you will learn about which QuickBooks Online subscription best meets the needs of a business, how to navigate the software, and how to begin the critical setup process. We will delve into the essential new company setup in QuickBooks Online.
You will establish an accurate setup tailored to the business’s needs, as every financial transaction in a business is linked to the chart of accounts. You will learn how to set and manage a tailored chart of accounts, the Product and Services List for inventory management, and service business reporting.
Finally, you will learn how to enter valid beginning balances when starting a new business in QuickBooks Online or creating a fresh QuickBooks Online company file.
Course Outcomes:
- Identify the best QuickBooks level for a business.
- Explore and navigate the features and functions of QuickBooks Online.
- Set up and manage users.
- Set up a new company, establish a chart of accounts, and beginning balances.
- Enter historical transactions and manage recurring transactions.
- Create and use adjusting journal entries.
- Set up products and services.
- Set up and use sub-customers and track projects.
- Set up sales tax.
- Set up using classes, locations, and tags.

This is a fully online, self-paced course. Once registered, you will have until August 31st, 2024, to complete the course.
You will use the online learning platform Canvas and the QuickBooks Online software through Intuit. Your instructor will be able to help you navigate both systems.
