 Course Description:

ServSafe ® Food Protection Manager is the food safety certification course developed for restaurants and food service managers.  Iowa regulations require the person in charge of a food service to have demonstrated knowledge of food safety principles, including preventing foodborne illness and general practices to improve food quality. The class, book, and Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) exam are included in the registration cost.

This is a self-paced, online class that prepares students to sit for the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification Examination.  All course content must be completed within 14 days of registration.  At that time, students will schedule a time to complete the Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) exam with the instructor. Participants must bring along a photo ID to the scheduled test date.

Course Outcomes:

Completion of the Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) exam.

• Those who score 75% or higher on the exam will be ServSafe® Certified for 5 years by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF).

Important Information:

The price of the class includes the SERVSAFE Manager textbook.  Upon registration, a staff member will contact you to make arrangements to pick up your textbook at either the Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer, or Spirit Lake campus during regular business hours.
