Location: Online, self-paced

Course Description:

This course is a state-approved, lesson-based, online program for human body function. This guided, online format will take approximately 10 hours to complete and meets all requirements for this portion of the state-required core subject matter.  This online course fulfills part of the requirements for a coaching authorization certificate, which is required for anyone coaching at the junior high or high school level.

Course Outcomes:

  1. Distinguish between anatomy and physiology.
  2. Utilize the vocabulary and terminology used in naming and describing body systems.
  3. Identify the normal structure and function of each body system.
  4. Describe the general planes, regions, and cavities of the human body.
  5. Identify the structure and function of the major parts of the cell; identify the structure, function, and characteristics of tissues, membranes, and skin.
