Course Description:
The Coaching Ethics, Techniques, and Theory course covers techniques and theory of coaching, sports physiology, preparation for completion, and issues in coaching. This is a state-approved, lesson-based, online program for ethics and theory of coaching. This guided, online format will take approximately 15 hours to complete and meets all requirements for this portion of the state-required core subject matter. This online course fulfills part of the requirements for a coaching authorization certificate, which is required for anyone coaching at the junior high or high school level.
Course Outcomes:
- Develop a coaching philosophy that reflects an ethical mindset.
- Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve in various situations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the responsibilities involved in coaching.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the canons of ethics and principles.
- Explain the competencies, qualities, and characteristics needed to become a successful coach.
- Construct fitness levels and a training program for a specific sport.
